star captain, Lionel Messi, has hailed his young
teammate, Ansu Fati after winning this year’s FIFA Men’s
Best Player of the year award ahead of Liverpool defender,
Virgil Van Dijk and Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo on
Monday.
Loadedkitt reports that Messi won the prize on Monday
night at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Italy ahead of Van
Dijk and Ronaldo.

The Argentine captain took the top honour with 46 per cent
of scoring points, with Van Dijk receiving 38 per cent and
Ronaldo 36 per cent.
Messi said Fati got his attention from the first time he saw
the 16-year-old in Barca’s first-team training, adding that
the Guinean forward has the potential to be a very important
player in the world.
Speaking after receiving The Best FIFA Men’s Player award
on Monday night, Messi told reporters: “Ansu Fati got my
attention from the first time I saw him training, but you have
to go step-by-step because he is 16 years old.
“He still doesn’t have the responsibility that others want to
put on his shoulders.
“He has the potential to be a very important player but we
have to help him.”
Fati, who was included in Barcelona’s 18-man squad to face
Villarreal at the Camp Nou Stadium on Tuesday night in the
La Liga, has been quite impressive for Ernesto Valverde’s
men this season.

King Paul started his career with Reggiana before moving to Juventus in 2011 where he was loaned back for a year but after progressing through the youth ranks of Old Lady he secured a loan move to Virtus Lanciano, a Serie B side in 2016 with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Failing to impress, he was returned to Juventus, and then loaned to Lega Pro side Pontedera, Fernana, Fano and Viareggio before joining Pianese on July 14, 2019.

Coronavirus has spread from China to countries in Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Africa.

Italy is the country in Europe with the highest number of reported cases. Some Italian Serie A matches were postponed last weekend as a preventive measure against the spread of the virus.

On Friday, the Lagos state government and the federal ministry of health confirmed the first case of coronavirus in Nigeria.

Lyon held out to secure a 1-0 win over Juventus in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 at the Groupama Stadium.
Lucas Tousart’s first-half strike was enough for the French club to secure their first win over Juventus in European competition.
Maurizio Sarri’s side struggled to get going during the game, and did not have a single shot on target during the 90 minutes.
Les Gones currently sit seventh in Ligue 1, 28 points behind leaders Paris St Germain, and have won just one of their last five matches, but have put themselves in an ideal position to progress beyond the round of 16 for the first time since 2010.
Cristiano Ronaldo had scored 19 goals since the start of December, but did not make the required breakthrough on the night.
The home side came close to taking the lead in the 21st minute, when Karl Toko Ekambi sent a header on to the crossbar from a Houssem Aouar’s corner.
Tousart broke the deadlock for the home side, tapping home an Aouar cross to give his side an important lead over the Italian champions.

Juventus looked to respond quickly, but Ronaldo’s curled effort was just wide of the post.
The visitors struggled defensively in the first half and were caught out a few times by passes from the Lyon midfielders.
The French side almost doubled their lead after Miralem Pjanic made a mistake on a back-pass and played in Ekambi, but he fired the ball over the bar.
Just before the end of the first half, the Cameroon international missed another chance, this time from distance, sending his ball over the Juventus goal.
Tousart came close at the start of the second half but his effort was deflected behind by the Juventus defence.
The visitors were unable to get a foothold in the second half, and were kept out by a resolute Lyon defence, who defended deep and were able to keep out the Italian side.
Paulo Dybala came closest to levelling the tie for Juventus, firing just wide with the ball coming off his shin.
The Argentinian had the ball in the back of the net in the 88th minute, as the visitors continued looking for an equaliser, only to be flagged offside.

Angel Di Maria explains why he Left Manchester United

Angel di Maria has explained why he flopped at
Manchester United following his big-money move to
Old Trafford.
Di Maria joined Manchester United from Real Madrid
in a then club-record £59.7million transfer but failed
to leave up to the Billings and he departed after just
a season at the Old Trafford.
The Argentine forward wanted the number 11 shirt
but Adnan Januzaj was in possession of the No 11
at United at the time, meaning Di Maria was
pressured into taking the No 7 – he claims.

‘I don’t really know. When I arrived, I saw that the No
11 was available,’ he told Ligue 1 when asked why
he took that shirt No with the French giants.
‘It’s a shirt No I wore a lot when I was younger and I
was keen to get once again.
‘At Real Madrid, No 11 was already taken, so I took
22. At Manchester United they gave me No 7, I didn’t
get a choice. I would have liked 11 but there we are.
Here, I had a choice, so I chose 11!’
The 31-year-old attacker has won nine major
honours – including three Ligue 1 titles.
